Haykal Sulaiman and Masjid Bayt Al-Maqdis are the same?
I got this from: Mujir al-Din Al-Hanbali (n.d.), Al-Uns al-Jalil bi Tarikh Al-Quds al-Khalil, Vol 1, page 55 - 59
"After finished building masjid Bayt al-Maqdis, Allah asked him to build a building on the Prophet Ibrahim grave. As he do not know where is the place, Allah signed him the place, with a light shone from the sky to the earth. Prophet Sulaiman built a building in the shape of fence (suwar) with the help of Jin. This place is in Hebron (Al-Khalil is regards to Prophet Ibrahim al-Khalil). This suwar takes the ruling of a mosque which people can i'tikaf, pray, those who menstruate can not stay in it etc. "
So, when the Jews argues that there are Haykal Sulayman, they confused this fence (might be called as haykal?) and the Masjid that Prophet Sulaiman build on the rock. Which is the place of Masjid al-Aqsa now. Even they confused with this building, Prophet Sulaiman also had rebuilt the masjid Bayt Al-Maqdis, which is dated before the building on the Prophet Ibrahim grave in Hebron.
What is interesting here is, the Masjid al-Aqsa has been built and rebuilt by several prophets. First, it was built by the same Prophet (may be Prophet Adam) who built Kaabah, the first mosque built for mankind o the earth (Quran). Then Prophet Ibrahim rebuilt Kaabah. May be he rebuilt Masjid Al-Aqsa too?
Then Prophet Sulaiman rebuilt masjid Bayt Al-Maqdis which is the name for Masjid Al-Aqsa. Yes, the building made by Prophet Sulaiman in Hebron is like a fence (suwar), may be that is why Jews called it as haykal. So, the Haykal Sulayman which being argued by Jews, is the Masjid al-Aqsa itself. Thus, why bothered digging under the Al-Aqsa mosque searching for the haykal when the Mosque itself is the building built by Sulayman.
As the building in Hebron is considered as mosque that people at that time - who are the followers of Prophet Sulaiman and later Prophets; namely Moses, Dawud etc - I argues here that the confusion is that the Jews thought the Haykal which they considered as mosque (place for worshiping) is the building that Prophet Sulaiman built on the rock which is Masjid Al-Aqsa/ Bayt Al-Maqdis.
Jews had disobeyed Allah for entering Bayt Al-Maqdis before, during Prophet Moses time. And now they still want to quarrel on the thing that is the same but theydont believe that is the same, the mosque. And also the Qur’ān as Allah’s word, and Prophet Muhammad as Allah’s Mesenger, they are all the same, ours and theirs. But they will not believe, because they are disbeliever. So, how to solve the problem? Whether the Jews become Muslim, or they agree to stay under Islamic ruling which there are parts for nonmuslim. Only then the peace and stability can be achieved.
